Moment #9 includes one of the most popular steam locomotives in the North American Railroad industry today. The Nickel Plate 765 thunders up the east slope of the Allegheny mountains, passing MG Tower, on a misty spring morning in May 2013. The Nickel Plate 765 is pulling the NS Employee Special originating in Altoona. The train will travel only as far as UN Interlocking at the apex of the hill before reversing for the return trip. Enjoy this step back in time seeing big steam passing the vintage PRR interlocking tower on “The Hill”.
